Jack Harrison was one of the four players who were left out of Leeds United’s pre-season tour of the United States, and he eventually left the club to join MLS side New England Revolution this summer.
The winger spent the latter half of last season on loan at Fiorentina. However, he did very little to convince the Serie A outfit that he was worth a permanent contract.

Leeds had no plans to reintegrate Harrison, unlike last summer, and were keen to offload him as soon as possible, as he had no future at Elland Road under Daniel Farke.
Harrison chose to return to the United States and joined New England Revolution for an undisclosed fee, which allowed Leeds to get him off their books.

The winger never really won over the Leeds supporters following his return to Elland Road last summer, even though Farke insisted that he convinced him and the Whites players.
Leeds fans never really forgave him for finding a way to escape Elland Road as soon as the Whites suffered relegation from the Premier League, and it was clear he never wanted to return to the club.
His return failed to win over the Leeds faithful, and it soon became clear that Harrison no longer felt the same sense of belonging at Elland Road.
He was unveiled as New England Revolution’s designated player inside their stadium, and Harrison conceded that he never felt this supported in his football career.
In a thinly veiled dig at Leeds and their fans, the winger insisted that joining New England Revolution is the best decision he has made in his career.
“The fans were incredible. I’ve never been recognised on the field like that before”, Harrison told New England Revolution’s official website.
“I said to my agent the other day that this has been the best signing that I’ve done in my career so far.”

Daniel Farke’s decision to bring Jack Harrison back into the first-team fold divided opinion, with many Leeds United supporters questioning whether there was any future for him at Elland Road.
Harrison left the club following Leeds’ relegation in 2023 and spent the next two seasons on loan at Everton. However, the Toffees decided against making the move permanent, forcing his return to West Yorkshire.
His second spell at Leeds never really got going. Harrison struggled to make an impact in his limited appearances before being loaned to Fiorentina in January, but the Serie A side also chose not to exercise their option to buy.
By that stage, it was clear there was no way back. Harrison never managed to rebuild his relationship with the Leeds fanbase, and with his high wages and limited role in Daniel Farke’s plans, moving him on became the logical outcome for all parties.
