Conservative Party candidate Amelia Boultbee has narrowly won the role of MLA for the Penticton-Summerland riding.

Boultbee accepted the victory at Penticton’s Barley Mill Pub Saturday night, surrounded by supporters.

She was neck-and-neck with contender Tina Lee, NDP, throughout the evening.

Boultbee is currently a first-term city councillor but stepped back from that role halfway through her term to pursue the provincial seat.

Final voting numbers for the riding have yet to be tabulated.

UPDATE: 8:24 p.m.

Polls have closed and numbers are coming in, showing a very close race in the Penticton-Summerland riding.

Tina Lee, NDP, and Amelia Boultbee, Conservative, are neck-and-neck for the MLA spot as of 8:25 p.m.

They are nearly tied at around 41 per cent.
