Montrezl Harrell to stay in Australia in coup for 36ers, NBL

Date:

Montrezl Harrell will be staying put in Australia, with the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year agreeing to sign with the Adelaide 36ers for the remainder of the 2024-25 NBL season.Harrell, who was initially signed as a short-term replacement for injured forward Jarell Martin, has impressed with the 36ers, averaging 15.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. While Harrell is still looking to return to the NBA, he is actually incentivised to remain in the NBL given his best chance of securing a contract is to continue performing for Adelaide to put himself in a position to sign in either February or March, depending if the 36ers qualify for the playoffs. For the time being though, Harrell’s full focus is on the 36ers, who have started the season with a 3-3 record and had to deactivate Alex Starling from the roster after agreeing to terms with the 30-year-old power forward.Watch every game of every round this NBL Season LIVE on ESPN, via Kayo.
