Pakistan, after all, had meticulously prepared the surface to avoid it. But, this England side has been contend with throwing caution to the wind even if that puts defeat on the horizon. There is a downside with preparing spin-friendly (or as England decided to term it “racked”) surfaces in the subcontinent. It turns the toss into a lottery and one wrong word uttered out of your mouth can put you behind the opposition even before the first ball is bowled.
