Leeds United’s first pre-season friendly takes place this Saturday against Wrexham. And, Daniel Farke’s will be making some brutal decisions with his squad.
United’s plans for the 26/27 season are well underway as the first wave of players returned for pre-season last week at Thorp Arch.
Coming up this week is the first fixture from Leeds’ pre-season tour of the US. The Whites take on Wrexham on Saturday night in Tampa, Florida.

With our first game of this three-match US pre-season tour coming on Saturday night, insight into who is travelling has now been revealed.
The usual suspects will of course be involved, as Daniel Farke looks to continue shaping his squad for next season. So, Harry Wilson should be front and centre with his new teammates looking to hit the ground running.
Elsewhere, fellow new signing Tarik Muharemovic is present after three weeks’ holiday, following his involvement in Bosnia’s World Cup.
Any Leeds United pre-season omissions make for obvious transfer suggestions
Last summer, Farke was quite blunt in his decision on Patrick Bamford’s role in the squad. Having returned to fitness to help Leeds see out a crucial win away at Middlesbrough, Bamford was promptly bombed out of the squad during 2025 pre-season.
It showed a ruthless edge to Farke’s planning for a Premier League campaign that needed to go almost perfectly to be successful. Now the German’s got a taste for that success. So, he won’t want any hangers on in his squad across the pond.
That means any loanees that have returned this summer are omitted. Max Wober, Jack Harrison, Mateo Joseph, Largie Ramazani, and Joe Gelhardt all miss out.
Given those players are absent from Farke’s US plans, it all but confirms they will be leaving the club. The exception there is Joseph, who wouldn’t play a part anyway, as he recovers from an ACL injury last season.
Of those, only Harrison looks remotely close to an exit, ironically to the States with New England Revolution. Talks are claiming to be advancing over a transfer to the MLS club.
As for Gelhardt and a permanent move to Hull City, neither club are said to be wanting to rush a transfer at this stage.
