Famous cutlery manufacturer makes charity donationA charity which gives small grants to community organisations across Lichfield has received a £1,500 boost from city-based cutlery manufacturer Arthur Price.We Love Lichfield will use the money towards its target of distributing £50,000 a year in small grants to good causes across the district.The cutlery firm raised the cash by holding two raffles and organising a special dining demonstration with local private chef Simon Smith, as well as donating cash from its increased social media following.The company said it would continue supporting We Love Lichfield throughout 2026, with other raffles and events.Simon Price, chairman of Arthur Price and patron of We Love Lichfield, said it was an honour and privilege to support the charity.“Together with other businesses and individuals we trying to make a difference across the district, helping local voluntary groups make Lichfield, Burntwood and the surrounding villages a better place,” he said.We Love Lichfield awards funding to a wide range of projects operating across the district of Lichfield, inviting applications from local groups in need twice a year.It raises money and then the returns are given away, with companies and individuals making up the bulk of the donors to the fund, either through direct donations, or by fundraising.All the money raised is invested through an endowment fund in line with charity commission guidelines, generating an income that is distributed to community organisations.“The beauty of this model is that it will provide a source of sustainable funding that can be used for grants long in to the future,” said a spokesman.“It’s almost like a pension scheme set up to support community and voluntary groups across Lichfield.”Continue Reading
