The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government held an oversight hearing about the FBI’s handling of security clearances for whistleblowers in their ranks. Witnesses included former FBI employee Marcus Allen, who testified that his clearance was taken away after the FBI deemed that Mr. Allen promoted conspiratorial views and unreliable information relating to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. His clearance was later restored. Also, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenn Kirschner testified on his concerns regarding Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation’s 2022 political initiative to be pushed if 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is reelected. close
