Zomato’s chief people officer and co-founder, Akriti Chopra, has announced her resignation from the online food delivery platform effective immediately. According to a stock exchange filing, Chopra is leaving the company to pursue other interests. One of the oldest Zomato employees, Chopra joined Zomato in 2011 as a senior manager of finance and operations.She was promoted to chief financial officer in 2019 and became a co-founder ahead of the company’s IPO. In her most recent role, she was also Zomato’s chief people officer.The Lady Shri Ram College graduate — also a qualified chartered accountant — is reported to have played an important role in building Zomato’s in-house legal, governance, risk and compliance teams.
