That is sadly the grim reality of the situation, although West Ham remain ambitious to return to the Premier League as quickly as possible. While at least some big names will almost certainly leave, keeping players like Castellanos would be a fine way to ensure their stay in the second tier is only a fleeting one. It looks like being a summer of chaos at West Ham but holding onto players of his stature would certainly be a statement of intent from the club.
