‘Dune: Prophecy’ Gets Max Premiere Date, Unveils Official Trailer At NYCC

After dropping two teasers, Max on Thursday revealed the official trailer for the upcoming Legendary prequel series Dune: Prophecy and set a hard premiere date of November 17.

The news broke during the series’ panel today at New York Comic Con. Watch the trailer above.

The series takes place 10,000 years before the ascension of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides in the Denis Villeneuve-directed movies. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. They’re Jedi-like sisters types in the Frank Herbert novels to you Star Wars folks out there.

Dune: Prophecy will be six episodes. The series has been in the works since the early days of HBO Max five years ago.
