LeBron James has flourished in his previous Olympic appearances, winning gold with the U.S. men’s basketball team in 2008 and 2012, and bronze in his 2004 debut in Greece.Two decades later, this Olympics, his last, is shaping up to be one of encouragement and poise, and may even include another visit to the podium. In 2024, the NBA star is literally the standard-bearer – chosen by his fellow athletes to represent them by being one of the two people carrying the U.S. flag in the opening ceremony.
