Police: John Callis turns himself into police, linked to viral video

John Callis, the man Baltimore Police were searching for in connection with a viral video of an assault on football fans, turned himself in on Monday, police said.Charging documents show that the viral video was the second encounter between Callis and three victims on Oct. 13.Callis, 24, of Baltimore, is charged with first-degree aggravated assault and three counts of second-degree assault, according to police.The first victim told police they heard Callis yell, “Screw the Redskins,” as they were leaving an establishment in Federal Hill. Then, Callis yanked his right jersey collar and assaulted him by punching him in the face, charging documents show.According to charging documents, Callis and the victims first encountered each other at 9:42 p.m. outside Cross Street Market, and Callis, “began aggressively grabbing and punching victim #1 in his facial area.”From there, three victims walked away, but Callis remained in the area with an unknown female, according to charging…
