REDDING, Calif. — Almost all parents think their children are the cream of the crop but one non-profit is asking which baby is the Baby of the Year, and this year a Redding native is in the running.Little Andre is competing as part of Good Housekeeping’s annual Baby of the Year competition. With thousands of others from across the country also vying for that winning spot.His mother says they just applied online after seeing Good Housekeeping’s post about the competition, and last week got the notice Andre made it to the first stage of the contest.The winner gets featured in the magazine and receives a $25,000 cash prize.His parents, Anjelika Rodriguez and Lo Saelee, say with Andre’s father being a disabled veteran the cash prize would be a godsend for the family.“I do get a little bit of a pension, it doesn’t really cover enough, but just due to my PTSD and my disabilities,” explains Saelee, holding Andre in his arms. “Like I was in Iraq back in 2011 and Kurdistan in 2012….
