‘We’re sorry’ say BT Openreach after a damaged cable caused widespread disruption to a village community in Northamptonshire.Villagers in Nether Heyford were left without broadband services after a damaged fibre cable ‘shut down the whole community’.BT Openreach has apologised for widespread disruptionOne resident told the Chron: “This current situation is affecting our whole village of Nether Heyford.”BT has managed to shut the whole community down from last night with reports of it being resolved as late as 12.30 tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.“It doesn’t build confidence when all of us are paying for a service and it appears that there is a level of ‘lack lustre’ to rectify it .“Not the boots on the ground as in staff – but the bigger company bosses and owners.“With no updates or any sense of urgency despite all members of the village community being affected.”We asked BT what was happening and when it would be resolved. An Openreach spokesperson told us: “We’re sorry for the disruption in Nether Heyford.”A fibre cable was damaged and, to keep everyone safe, we could only carry out repairs during a planned road closure. We’ve now fixed the fault and services should be restored. If anyone is still having problems with their service, they should contact their service provider, who’ll be able to help.”Continue Reading
