Lorraine Bennet, Krish Gupta and Chris Dodds from Bedfordshire have been selected to represent the UK as part of a team delivering the World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027. Set in the heart of Central Europe, Lorraine, Krish and Chris will work alongside Scouts from nearly every country in the world, helping to deliver a truly international experience and share skills for life on a global stage.Lorraine Bennet has been selected to represent the UK at the World Scout Jamboree next year. | The Scouts Held every four years in a different country, the World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people, aged between 14 and 17, in Scouting. In 2027, with the backdrop of Poland’s rich history, landscapes and vibrant traditions, over 50,000 Scouts will gather to celebrate friendship across borders, experience different cultures and explore the outdoors.UK Scouts has selected an outstanding team of 585 volunteers from across the country to make this event happen. As part of the International Service Team, Lorraine, Krish and Chris will help bring the Jamboree to life, taking on a role such as running exciting outdoor activities, supporting cultural exchanges or helping deliver large-scale events celebrating the diversity of global Scouting. Lorraine Bennett, civil engineer, aged 46, said: “I have only recently joined Scouts, so I am trying to mke up for lost time! I am very excited to go to the World Scout Jamboree. I haven’t travelled recently so I wanted to make sure that when I did, it was in a safe space – which is exactly what Scouting provides”. Krish Gupta, videographer, aged 20, added: “I’m attending this jamboree to encourage young people to go out and experience all that the world has to offer.” Chief Scout Dwayne Fields said: “Congratulations to Lorraine Bennett, Krish Gupta and Chris Dodds and all the UK volunteers heading to the World Scout Jamboree in Poland.
