A ‘historically significant’ silver salver is among 25 antique pieces which have stolen from a National Trust site in Warwickshire.The items were stolen from Baddesley Clinton during the early hours of Thursday July 30.Warwickshire Police are appealing for anyone with information about the stolen items to get in touch.Built in the late 1500s, Baddesley Clinton is the historic home of the Ferrers family, who lived at the property for more than 400 years.A ‘historically significant’ silver salver is among 25 antique pieces which have stolen from a National Trust site in Warwickshire. Photos by National TrustThe stolen silver salver is engraved with the Ferrers family arms and bears the mark of Dorothy Mills, one of the few women to register as a silversmith in the 18th century.Other collection items taken include a silver stirrup cup, a brass alms dish and a pair of silver candelabra.The artefacts, which are a mix of silver, silver-plated, pewter and brass, help to tell the story of the Ferrers family and their historic home.Ann Ryan, National Trust operations manager for Baddesley Clinton, said: “This has been a very upsetting incident for our staff and volunteers, and we appreciate the support shared by visitors and members of the public on social media.The stolen silver salver is engraved with the Ferrers family arms and bears the mark of Dorothy Mills, one of the few women to register as a silversmith in the 18th century.
