Family honours motorcyclist who died in Wisbech crash



29-year-old remembered as caring and adventurousAuthor: Charlotte BarberPublished 7 hours agoA motorcyclist tragically lost his life following a crash near Wisbech last week.Grant Pattenden, 29, from Castle Close, Weeting, Brandon, was riding east along the B1166 on Tuesday, 4th August 2026, when he left the road and entered a ditch. Emergency services responded and transported Mr Pattenden to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Family TributeMr Pattenden’s family released a heartfelt tribute, describing the qualities of a beloved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and friend. “Anyone who knew Grant knew a wonderful, polite, helpful, caring and loving young man who never knew his true worth,” they said. “A bit of an adrenaline junkie, he loved to take on new experiences and wasn’t afraid to take a risk, but he was never irresponsible. “He was meticulous in everything he did and was very conscientious and loyal.” His family expressed deep love and affection for him, noting his impact on those around him. “He was a deeply loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend who will be so very sadly missed. Taken away too soon. “You will be forever in our hearts, always and forever!” Mr Pattenden’s adventurous spirit and caring nature will be remembered by those who knew him.
